ABOUT UCSM

On 18th September 1997, the University of Computer Studies, Mandalay was established under the Ministry of Science and Technology to conduct teaching and research in various branches of computer science and technology. The Universities of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY) and the University of Computer Studies, Mandalay (UCSM) are the two of the higher institutions under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

To help meet the growing need for and advanced computer education in Myanmar, UCSM offers both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as diploma programs in computer studies. On 27th January 2009, the Ph.D. program was started. UCSM is promoted as University of Computer Studies, Mandalay (Centre of Excellence) in 2012-2013 Academic Year. Its teaching materials and textbooks are in English.

Our Missions are to produce experts who have the practical ability to invent, install, experiment with, and apply computer hardware and software with a view to making Myanmar a modern and developed nation and to train Information Technology (IT) professionals for Myanmar.

Compound

University of Computer Studies is located about 12 miles from Mandalay. The compound of UCSM is very wide. It is amost 70 square kilometer. There are many buildings and hostels for students, teachers, professors can stay. It has natural environment. Many trees and woods in the school compound.

Campus Activities

UCSM provied many activities for students to perticipate. ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest, Samsung Tech Institute Android Movile Apps Development Traiining Programs, Parallel Computing, J-Sat Japanese Language course, Moonsoon Season Growing Plants, UCSM's family 'Ka-Htain-Pwe' and etc are held in UCSM. Student's Union Orgainzatioin also offers Photo Club, Tech Talk seminor program, Music Club, Dance Club, Chess Club, Art and Literature Club and so on.

Fresher Welcome

Fresher welcome is always held at the beginning of the academic year. It's main purpose is to welome new students who choose UCSM for their institute. The rector always give a speech to students. After that UCSM offers the prizes to outstanding students that got 1st, 2nd, 3rd rank from final exam. And then, we choose the campus ANG and QUEEN, fresher KING and QUEEN

Student Life

Student in UCSM have fully compus life because the campus is very large. Teachers and students are familier. Clinic and canteens also offer within the campus. Car parking are also large. Students can also access full time Wi-Fi internet services.
